OUR STORY, STILL GROWING

Pride in our place. Belief in our people.

A proposed shared kitchen with Moss Side at its heart — and every culture at its table.

A local idea.
A collective future.

P-O-M-S Kitchen (Pride of Moss Side) was founded as a Project ROCK-I initiative by Leroy Johnson and Daniel Johnson. Their vision is a Multicultural and Wellness Community Kitchen in Moss Side, Manchester.

The project is proposed under the MAV-UK (Mothers Against Violence) umbrella, pending formal approvals. This is not a claim of confirmed affiliation, endorsement or registered charity status.

Our mission is to bring people together through culturally inspired food, intergenerational friendship and voluntary wellbeing support — with dignity and belonging at the centre.

A vision, not an open service.

All activities are proposed and subject to formal approvals, suitable premises, staffing and funding. No bookings or donations are being accepted.

WHAT WOULD GUIDE US

Many cultures. Shared values.

Everyone belongs

Respect for every background, culture and generation.

Dignity comes first

A welcoming table, without requiring wellness participation.

Community shaped

A vision to develop with local people, not simply for them.

Your wellbeing. Your choice.

Wellness checks and conversations are entirely voluntary and never required to receive food. The proposed programme offers confidential conversations and appropriate referrals, not medical assessment or treatment. Confidentiality would be subject to safeguarding and legal responsibilities, explained before any conversation.
